Grand Cayman Island car rental may seem like an obvious choice. And it is, really. There’s no better way to get around and see the island than to rent a car. That way, you can do everything on your own schedule rather than wait upon transportation or worry about delays and traffic jams. You’ll be your own driver, which means you won’t have to worry about the character traits of whomever is carting you around, like if they’re trustworthy, if they’re a safe driver, if they have a condition that imparts sudden outbursts of violent road rage, etc. It will also allow you to be flexible with your schedule. If you make a last minute decision to go to somewhere other than where you originally planned for, then you can easily do so on the fly.
But if you rent a vehicle from Grand Cayman rent a car, or anywhere else for that matter, you need to be careful about ensuring that you don’t fall into certain traps. Everyone thinks that they are knowledgeable about avoiding paying for unnecessary insurance when it comes to vehicle rental, but that’s not all you need to know. The truth is, you also need to give your rental car a thorough inspection before you drive away in it. This isn’t because your rental agency is out to swindle you, however. It’s simply honest business: if you return the car in poorer condition than when it was rented to you, then it makes sense that you would be charged for it. So, it’s up to you to give your rental vehicle a thorough inspection when you get it. This is a matter that should be taken seriously, as it could potentially save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars– especially if you went ahead and avoided paying for last-minute insurance plans!
A basic inspection is common sense when it comes to Cayman car rentals: give the car a look-over, kick the tires, and glance under the hood as if you actually understand what’s underneath it. But you need to be more careful than that. Take your time and look at every single part of the car, from multiple angles. And, possibly most importantly, take photos of every part of the car from multiple angles. Inspect the body, windshield, and windows for cracks, dents, scratches, and sticky spots to be certain there won’t be any nasty surprises for you later on.
