Why You Should Sleep Properly if You Want to Fly
Summary: Flying can be quite dangerous if you do not take the proper precautions.
Few things are as exciting as piloting a plane. Flying up in the air and piloting an aircraft high above the ground can give you a new perspective of the world you live in. Flying, much like driving a car, can still be a dangerous activity. There are certain things you should keep in mind, with regards to sleeping, if you want to fly safely.
Restoring the Body and Mind
Sleep is something a lot of people know is important but many people do not sleep well. If you do not get between seven to nine hours of sleep each night, you could find yourself tired and irritable. One of the biggest problems with not getting enough sleep is that it limits our abilities to perform the next day. If you try to fly after not getting enough sleep or not having a quality rest, you could find yourself struggling to safely control the aircraft. You might forget something crucial, like properly connecting the aircraft bladder tanks.
Sleeping restores both the body and mind. If you do not sleep well you might not be able to handle the demanding nature of piloting an aircraft.
Staying Alert
A lack of sleep reduces your critical thinking skills and increases your reaction time. Being able to remain alert and aware of your surroundings is crucial when you are flying. Taking this into consideration, sleep is just as important as any gear from Turtle-Pac or other stores. You might want to sleep less so you can stay awake longer but even just an hour less than the ideal amount can negatively impact your health.
